To say my happiness is rooted in materialism would be a falsehood.

However, as I clean and spruce the house for spring and summer, I continue to find or put to use items that have been tucked away for the winter months.

These items add a new feel to our home, as do clean floors, window shades, and freshly washed couch cushions.

In this moment, I’m working to live as simply and as quietly as possible for the sake of my sanity. I’m opting to find joy in the little things and clinging to those things as tightly as possible.
